Calvary Chapel Cuenca is located at JUAN PIO MONTUFAR Y PRIMERA CONVENCION. If you want more information check our web page or email us.

Currently, our church is directed by the Senior Pastor Fredy Bernardino Morocho Ochoa

The current ministries are the following:

PRAYER MINISTRY: This is a time in the presence of the Lord to praise His name, to thank Him for His blessings and to put the needs of the church and its members in His hands.

Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

          1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

WOMEN’S MINISTRY: Every other Saturday each month the ladies meet to worship the Lord, fellowship and to grow together through the study of the Word of God.

A woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.

Proverbs 31:30b

WORSHIP MINISTRY:Praise and worship are important elements before each bible study; a time in which the Lord prepares our hearts to receive His Word. The worship team meets every Saturday for a time of prayer and preparation for Sunday morning.

Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!

Psalm 150:6

YOUTH GROUP:Recently, the church youth group has grown in number. Therefore, we currently have various activities to involve the youth and help them to grow greatly in their friendships and in the knowledge from the Word of God.

Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth.

Ecclesiastes 12:1a

BASKET OF LOVE: This is a ministry that assists people in the church that are in need of food donations.

Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love.

Romans 12:10a

NURSERY & SUNDAY SCHOOL: During the Sunday morning study, the little children have their own special time being taught with love in the ways of the Lord through the Word and kids’ songs.

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 22:6

KIDS’ CLUB: Every Saturday, a group of children (some from the church and some from the community) meet in the church to learn the Word of God with puppets, music and more.

Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.

Mark 10:14

CALVARY CHAPEL GUALACEO: Teaching the Word of God 40 minutes from Cuenca.

CALVARY CHAPEL LA TRONCAL: Teaching the word of God 3 hours from Cuenca in the Cost of Ecuador.

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

1 Timothy 2:4

BIBLICAL DINNER: Two days each month, we prepare a biblical dinner that consists in recreating what happened at the last supper of our Lord, with biblical teaching, directed especially toward those that don’t know Jesus as their Savior.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Revelation 3:20

CALVARY ARTS: A ministry that involves many talented people who are using their talents for the Lord in order to be His instruments through dramas, puppets, mimes, music, etc.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

Romans 12:1

BIBLE COLLEGE: Teaching the Word of God in order to build up the relationship we already have with God and training us to be servants of the Lord, equipped with the whole armor of God.

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15

LIFE FESTIVAL: Once a year, we organize a special program with music, puppets, dramas, mimes, etc., geared toward the residents of Cuenca, with the desire to bring them to the feet of Christ.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 3:17

SOUL HARVEST: Similar to the Life Festival, once a year, we put on a concert for the youth in Cuenca with Christian musicians sharing their testimonies.

Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

 Hebrews 13:15

  5. Hi- I am trying to find a bilingual person associated with your church because I know a family who lives in Cuenca sometimes and in Santa Rosa sometimes. The daughter (now 6) came to us in the US when she was just 2 1/2 years old because she had a severe cleft lip and palate. She also needed surgery for a colostomy reversal. She lived with us and we cared for her during her surgeries. She is in need of some medical care now but is very poor. I have money that I want to wire to her family, but I prefer to have a middle party to help me assess the needs. Can you put me in touch with someone like that? kelly

  6. We will be visiting Quito this summer, is there a Calvary Chapel? If not would you suggest a Christian Church to attend while visiting. Thanks.

  7. My husband and I are thinking about visiting Cuenca in the fall. On every international trip we have been on, we try and meet with some missionaries and see if there is anything we can bring them or pray with them about. We met with some in Lima, Peru and then we went to Iquitos, Peru with the missionaries of CC. It was so inspiring and a huge blessing to see the work that is being done there. If we decide to come to Ecuador would we be able to meet and help with any projects there? We would be there for about 4-10 days. Neither of us speak Spanish so we might have some communication issues.

  8. My name is Steve Haynes. I am with the Navigator ministry out of Colorado Springs, CO. I am praying about moving to Cuenca and starting up a discupleship ministry. I do this through local churches and would like to develop a relationship with Calvary Chapel. When you get the chance, I’d like to start a conversation and get to know you.

    Steve Haynes

    1. Dear Steve,
I didn’t see a reply posted as a response to your enquiry, so
      I am responding to it.
Calvary Chapel is a very bible-based ministry which you
      would fit into very well.
The contact person for this type of ministry would be Gary
      Gaither, » garyandsuegaither@gmail.com «.
I think that you would like Cuenca. It’s even higher
      altitude than Glen Eyrie!
      In Christ,

  9. Hello!

My name is Donald Lucero I have had recently, at the begginning of the year an opportunity to visit Cuenca, Ecuador. It was a blessing visiting and really enjoyed the culture, the people and the environment. I am 27yrs old, currently live in Albuquerque, NM USA where I work for the government at the moment as a administrator for the University Programs Dept. and am single with no kids and no debt. Because of my love for latin american culture, and my sincere love for Ecuador and its people, I have been prayerfully considering moving there to help share the gospel of Christ as well as maybe teach english or math. Would you know of any institutes that may need volunteers? Or would Calvary Chapel Cuenca need any assistance in anything, even if its labor work, painting, custodial duties etc.? If you could please help, or point me to the right direction, i would appreciate it. I hope to hear from you soon.

    In His Strong Love,

    Donald Lucero

  10. Calvary Chapel Cuenas,

I attend Calvary Chapel in Redlands, CA (the Packinghouse) and travel often. I typically worship & study with a local Calvary Chapel while traveling. I will be traveling to Ecuador & the Galapagos Isl. I will be in Quito, Oct 20th, Thurs and Guayaquil Oct 25th Tues.
Do you know of any ministries or churches in those cities that I could visit or bring items of need?

Thank you & blessings in the Lord,

  11. My husband and I have been toying with the idea of retiring outside of the US for some time and recently have begun to key in on Equador. In doing a little research, we discovered your church. We are planning to make a trip to Cuenca in the near future for a visit. God seems to be leading us in the direction of ministry as we approach retirement.

Even though retirement is still several years away, we would like to develop a communication line with the church and then allow God to move our hearts and direct our paths.

We are praying for your ministry in general terms now, but would love to have more specific information about your needs and your body of believers. If you publish a news letter we would love to receive it.

    In Christ,
    LaJuana and David Renfro

    1. Congratulations and God direct your steps as you consider serving Him in Cuenco. May He guide your every move as your hearts are preparing for His Will. My connection w/ CC Ecuador is simply that I was on tour to the Galapagos Islands and was interested in attending a church nearby. Unfortunately, Cuenca was further away than I had time for. But God gave me opportunity to join a women’s conference while on the Galapagos Isl and make friends w/ two young ladies. My ministry is simply to allow the Holy Spirit to use me to minister God’s Word and encourage others whereever He gives opportunity. Sorry, no newsletter but do correspond and support by prayer those serving HIm overseas by email. May the joy of the Lord be your strength! Jody (live in the San Bernardino southern california and attend CC Redlands called the Packinghouse–if in the area, please stop by and worship w/ us!) 12. Greetings from Roseburg , Oregon! I am so thankful that you are in Cuenca. I found your site while searching the web with our exchange son, Juan. Juan was with us for 10 1/2 months. He returned to Cuenca in August. Our daughter , Erica is planning to visit Juan and his family in December. I’m praying that they will visit your church. I will encourage Juan to come visit you soon.

I was born again , Feb. 1992 after listening to Elisabeth Elliot on the radio. Feb. 2010 I sent Elisabeth our family photo. In April, Elisabeth’s husband called us. I prayed with Elisabeth. In May , my husband asked me if we could host a boy from Ecuador. The Lord sent Juan in August 2010. I stand in AWE!!! Juan’s great great grandfather was President of Ecuador in 1892-1895 Luis Cordero Crespo.

I would love to visit the villages where Jim and Elisabeth taught. My hope is that Juan will drive me there someday…. All things are possible to him who believes…. Im believing! Romans 15:13
